I offer one and two day workshops, though I prefer two day, since there never seems to be enough time in a one day to cover everything I want to cover..
I have been working in porcelain for over 35 years and for most of that time I have fired my work at cone 9/10 oxidation. I am currently exploring cone 6 as well.
Workshops cover the following techniques:
porcelain:"dry" throwing,
slab building
making of molds from bisqued clay,
how to achieve precise line and design,
how to look at your work and strengthen what is best about it
how to roll large seamless cylinders which then can be altered to make containers ,handles, spouts
glazing techniques video, shot in my studio.
slide show of my studio, house and archival work.
An oxidation glaze session, which will deal with firing, testing and tips on the differences between reduction and oxidation chemistry.
I will share test results of color and white glazes with handouts. with research techniques and recipies.
