  " WOMAN IN A GARDEN SERIES"
   RIGHT:Stoneware bust
   15 inches high. Scroll down to see more images of pieces from  this ongoing series.
   An armature of clay was thrown on the potter's wheel and the piece built around it of other thrown components. The leaves that form the hair were handbuilt.

  This piece and most others on this page are  currently being exhibited at The Clay Gallery in Ann Arbor, through October 2,2011.

LEFT AND ABOVE:       My intention with these pieces was to create  figurative sculptures that focused on volume and line. This piece is made of porcelain and is carved and pierced.
